D-link has announced that it will be venturing into the gaming arena with a new device aimed at eliminating latency.

The new Wireless Gigabit Gaming Router, the DGL-4300 will cost £150 and be aimed specifically at the online gaming community and has been designed to work with PC, X-Box, and Playstation2 platforms.

New units mean new technology and D-Link has created Gamefuel Priority technology which basically manages and prioritises broadband network traffic to better execute gaming sensitive applications, ensuring delivery ahead of all other applications, such as FTP transfers, Internet traffic and E-mail.

The unit will support one fast Ethernet 10/100 Mbps WAN port, four Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN ports and 108Mbps SuperG 802.11g wireless performance.
