With the debate raging on over Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and its certification in America, certification activists all over the world will be pleased to hear that Microsoft is supposedly adding a Parental Control system to its Xbox 360 console.

According to an article on Japanese website Mainichi, parents will be able to set up the console so it will only play games with the appropriate age rating. Meaning that setting it to play anything Mature or below and you're 17-year old won't be able to play AO games even if they have got their grubby mitts on a copy.

The Mainichi article states that the new features will be built-in to US, European and Japanese units something which has never been done or attempted before.

No doubt the hackers will be all over it like wildfire when the console does eventually launch, but at least the thought is there.
