Mac gamers get Call of Duty 2

Mac gamers will soon be able to play the World War II first person shooter game

NEWS: 26 May 2006 18:10 GMT by Stuart Miles

Mac gamers will soon be able to play the World War II first person shooter game that PC and Xbox360 users have been shouting about following Aspyr Media's announcement that it is releasing a Mac version for both PowerPC and Intel based machines.

Call of Duty 2, will be a Mac OS X Universal application, and runs natively on both Intel-based and PowerPC-based Macintosh computers. Licensed from Activision and originally developed by Infinity Ward, the title was developed for the Mac by Aspyr Studios, the company's internal development team.

The sequel to Call of Duty, the 2003 Game of the Year and winner of more than 80 awards, Call of Duty 2 promises more immense, more intense, more realistic battles than ever before, thanks to the stunning visuals of the new Call of Duty 2 engine.

Not surprisingly due to it level of detail and action Call of Duty 2 will need a fairly high spec'ed Mac to get the most out of it. Aspyr Media are recommending gamers run the game on a Power Mac G5 or Intel 2.0 GHz or faster running Mac OS X 10.4.5 or later and having 128 MB of video ram or more.
