Nintendo's Wii may be hitting the US shelves sooner than expected—perhaps as early as September.

CNN Money reports that an analyst from American Technology Research says that Nintendo is already manufacturing the console, and that October is a reasonable release date.

Microsoft didn't start manufacturing the Xbox360 until 69 days before the release date. If this time frame were held to by Nintendo, the Wii could be available by September.

However, October would give it more time to finish more units to meet demands.

Pricing is likely to be between $200 to $250.

If Wii does emerge in October, it will beat Sony's PS3 launch on 17 November.
