Ultimate Games Chair brings immersive gaming experience into the home

Integrated speakers in a comfy massage recliner

NEWS: 11 October 2006 12:10 GMT by Amber Maitland

For that special gamer in your life comes the Ultimate Games Chair range that promises to surround him in a cushioned, immersing experience.

The seat, which comes in a two versions, the Raptor and the Ultimate Game Chair, incorporates features designed to not only put the gamer in the midst of the action, but also have a relaxing place to unwind at the end of a heavy day of gaming.

Ground Effects Lighting illuminate the space appropriate to the game, while 3D Stereo Speakers promise added realism. For those times when you need to keep quiet, integrated headphone jacks let you play while not disturbing others. Audio out jacks connect the chair to a home theatre setup while a 12 motor vibration system shakes and rumbles in sync with gaming action.

For relaxation, the chair offers multiple massage settings as well as a reclining option when you need to put your feet up.

And there’s more: connection for external gaming devices like steering wheels; a compartment for storing games and accessories; and a cup and remote control holder.

The chairs have already gained legendary status through cameos in films like “The Forty Year Old Virgin”, “Stay Alive” and “Grandma’s Boy”.

The Raptor, available for £225, lets gamers connect their wired controller to the chair, while the Ultimate Games Chair, on sale for £350, includes split left and right-hand controllers. Both are compatible so far with the Xbox, Xbox Live, PS2, Gamecube, and PC/Mac. Audio-only options are available for the Xbox360, Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, and MP3 players.

The pre-order page is available at www.digitalsales.co.uk/Raptor starting on 12 October.
