Xbox loses Splinter Cell edge

NEWS: 20 September 2004 18:11 GMT by Stuart Miles

Bad news today for Microsoft and the Xbox. Ubisoft has announced that it has confirmed that Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory will launch on all platform versions simultaneously in March 2005.

Up until now Xbox has benefited from having the lead on the Splinter Cell franchise and for many has been the reason behind the purchase of the console.

Ubisoft sited the need to maximize marketing impact for the decision.
