Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie Studios intend to stoke their boilers early this year by announcing an additional way for gamers to receive enlightenment in the form of an invitation to participate in the Halo 3 multiplayer beta program sometime this spring via Xbox Live Marketplace.

The Halo 3 multiplayer beta, a pre-release version of the multiplayer experience of Halo 3, is exclusively on Xbox 360, and gamers can vie for an invitation by first buying the upcoming game Crackdown, which is due to be released in Europe on 23rd February 2007.

As well as a bit of old fashioned gaming fun the beta also offers an opportunity to gamers to take part in the testing, tweaking and fine-tuning of Halo 3. Bungie Studios will be eagerly awaiting gamer feedback to make the final adjustments.

Anybody wanting to take part will have to look for specially marked copies of Crackdown that include the invitation and then use the Crackdown disc as a key to download the beta from Xbox Live Marketplace.
