CES 2007: Sony reaches 1 million milestone for PlayStation 3

And it hasn't even made it to the UK yet

Sony has confirmed that it has shipped 1 million PS3 consoles so far since its launch in the US in November.

The sales results mean that it is the company's fastest selling games console to date beating the PlayStation 2 performance at its launch last century.

The company believes that it is now on target to reach 6 million console sales by the end of the year.

The company also announced that it's PSP handheld console has sold over 20 million units worldwide since its launch.
