Gamers to get their hands on new gaming keyboard

Game play a priority for Microsoft and Razer

NEWS: 9 January 2007 10:21 GMT by Chris Ford

Las Vegas was the launch pad for Microsoft Corp. and Razer USA Ltd. with the announcement of the Microsoft Reclusa gaming keyboard.

Reclusa’s advanced features and futurist design elements will help gamers stay more than a step ahead of their competitors, the two giants claim.

Ambient blue LED backlighting, Hyperesponse Gaming Key Action for maximum response with minimal latency, and two built-in gold-plated USB ports are among the treats awaiting purchasers.

It’s all going to be about improving efficiency with the 12 custom-programmable buttons on the keyboard, including two 360 Degree Jog-Dials and two Bumper Buttons conveniently located on each side of the keyboard.

“We are excited to partner with Razer to develop Reclusa and deliver on the keyboard needs of an estimated 200 million PC gamers worldwide”, said Bill Jukes, product marketing manager for Microsoft Hardware at Microsoft. “The new keyboard builds upon our joint commitment to provide the most advanced features and comfortable implementation to the gaming community.”

Reclusa is the second co-branded device from Microsoft and Razer. The two companies first produced Habu, a laser gaming mouse, together.
