After months of speculation, the PS favourite future racer has been confirmed as a definite title to be released on the PS3.

Last summer, eagle eyed hacks spotted a position advertised on Datascope’s website for a lead designer position at Sony, claiming the job would “have a key role in realising future iterations of Wipeout on the PSP and PS3”.

Well, Sony have been tight lipped ever since, that is until Clemens Wangerin, director at Sony Liverpool, let slip in an interview with Develop magazine.

The Sixaxis controller is in for sure and the title would “maybe” feature online and multiplayer functions. Since then a Sony spokesperson has confirmed this but declined to add anything further at this stage.
