Quake Wars announced for next-gen

Pedigree development teams to head the way

NEWS: 14 February 2007 10:28 GMT by Chris Ford

id Software and Activision have confirmed that Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars, already one of the most anticipated titles for 2007, is on its way to Xbox 360 and PS3.

Although no release date was given it is news that is likely to warm the cockles of any action gamer’s heart given the 15 awards it won in 2006.

In this epic multiplayer-focused game, players can choose to side with humanity as a part of the Global Defense Force (GDF) or go against it as a merciless Strogg alien invader.
Produced by id Software, Nerve Software is developing Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars for the Xbox 360, while Z-Axis is the developer for the PS3.

"We're pleased to be working with Nerve and Z-Axis to bring the highly-anticipated gameplay from Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars to the Xbox 360 and PS3", said Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software.
