EA Sports to bring live NBA shows to Europe

NBA teams set to shoot hoops – training and game dates

Autumn 2007 is set to see some of the biggest names in NBA basketball on a European tour sponsored by EA Sports.

The Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors will come and set up camp to both train and play in what will be the 19th year that the NBA have visited Europe.

The UK, Italy, Spain and Turkey will all see action as the teams play exhibition games for their fans.

The tour will include a numbers of firsts as well. London’s new O2 arena will see its first basketball game when the Boston Celtics take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Turkey and Italy will host their first ever NBA games.

“Following the success of last year’s event, fans throughout Europe will again have the opportunity to see four NBA teams embark on this special European tour”, said NBA Commissioner David Stern.

“This collaborative effort between the NBA, Euroleague Basketball and EA Sports is committed to grow the sport of basketball across Europe and to embrace fans in each city through our NBA Cares community outreach.”

Minnesota Timberwolves Oct. 1-5 Istanbul
Toronto Raptors Oct. 1-5 Treviso
