Asda selling PlayStation 2 for £50

Cheap as chips

NEWS: 22 February 2007 15:40 GMT by Stuart Miles

Online retailers might have dropped the price of the Xbox 360, but ASDA has gone one further and starting selling Sony's PlayStation 2 consoles for £50.

Although available only in store rather than online the company is reporting that it is selling a limited number of the consoles across its 316 stores from today.

The console is expected to sell like hotcakes.

It follows a similarly headline-grabbing deal run by the firm last month, when it offered a DVD player for just £9.
