Activision have announced the late spring release of Spider-Man 3, out in conjunction with the movie which will show a whole new side to the light hearted super hero we all thought we knew.

Out in May, on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii, DS, PC and Gameboy this time Spiderman gets his black suit out as gamers get to grips with a larger, dynamic, free-roaming New York City and multiple movie-based and original storylines.

Spiderman 3 is all about territory. Gangs will try to take over areas by robbing, kidnapping, burning, looting and generally creating havoc. You’ll have to combat them at every turn to help life return to normal and let citizens go about their lives. Clear an area of the gangs by all means, but don’t turn your back or they’ll return.

Players will rely on revamped combat abilities to protect the city from the bad guys. Expanded aerial fighting, finishing moves and dynamic webbing ... Do well and you’ll be rewarded with improved speed, combat manoeuvres and agility. Fail and the Big Apple falls.
