Sony releases first-party PS3 games prices

Titles and prices. How much and when

NEWS: 26 February 2007 11:50 GMT by Chris Ford

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has revealed its pricing policy for first-party PS3 titles, announcing that gamers will have to spend £39.99/EUR 59.99 at launch.

Those titles, which undercut Xbox 360 titles by £10, available on March 23 will include Resistance: Fall of Man, Motorstorm, Genji, Ridge Racer 7, and Formula One Championship Edition.

Australia will see launch prices of Aus$99.95 and in New Zealand NZ$109.95.

Sony has also mentioned pricing for downloadable games such as BlastFactor, flOw and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, though an official announcement has not been made.

They will be available via the PlayStation Network service and for an "introductory period", they will cost between EUR 2.99 and EUR 9.99.

SCEE boss David Reeves said, "Not only will it be completely free to register on the PlayStation Network with no subscription fees and access to many free demos, but with these competitive prices for additional content we are able to offer the consumer both top quality games on Blu-ray discs and a whole range of downloadable content".

"With over 30 first and third party disc and network games available at launch, we are confident that this will be one of the most successful launches of all time."
