Heatseeker finds its target

Aerial combat is given hands-on control with Wii, and other platforms

NEWS: 5 March 2007 9:57 GMT by Chris Ford

Codemasters is bringing top gun style combat to the Nintendo Wii, PSP and PS2 with Heatseeker, expected to take flight sometime late March.

Heatseeker will give gamers the thrill of the chase on any platform, but will excel on Wii as the remote controllers will give players unprecedented control over millions of pounds worth of aircraft, and at the speeds you’ll be flying, a millimetre here or there will make all the difference between making it home and meeting your maker.

Players can use one of the two available control methods, and fighter jets and missiles respond instantly to help you make that 10-inch manoeuvre to prevent an enemy warhead shredding apart your F-15 Eagle. And don’t just take our word for it. Check out the exclusive Heatseeker video downloadable at the link below.

"It's vital that your plane reacts instantly to your control inputs", said Andrew Wensley, Senior Producer for Heatseeker at Codemasters.

"Even a hundredth of a second delay can prove fatal in air to air combat and, although we've provided the perfect control system, only the player can provide the nerves of steel necessary."
