EA backs Wii with Tiger Woods, SSX, Godfather and Medal of Honor

Big names coming this spring

NEWS: 8 March 2007 0:56 GMT by Stuart Miles

EA has announced that it will be bringing SSX Blur, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR, The Godfather Blackhand Edition and Medal of Honor Vanguard to the Nintendo Wii later this year.

"The Nintendo Wii has allowed us to explore new and exciting game play possibilities and attract a whole new audience to EA games", said Paul Lee, President, Worldwide Studios, EA. “In the upcoming year, we will continue to custom-design our most popular franchises and develop new EA properties that take full advantage of this unique gaming platform.”

The games will use the motion sensored control element of the console to interact with gamers, ranging from controlling your boarder down the top to improving your golf stroke in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 07.

The top-selling golf video game franchise is packed with new content, including 18 championship courses and 35 pro and fantasy golfers.

The Godfather Blackhand Edition gives an enhanced experience with motion-based Blackhand Control by integrating Nintendo’s innovative Wii controller. The Godfather Blackhand Edition for the Wii offers brand new ways to go from Soldier to Don as you gain control of the streets of New York. Follow the path of an Enforcer or Operator; each with its own unique perks and abilities to earn. For improved, hyper-intuitive control in The Godfather Blackhand Edition, use gestures with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to perform true-to-life actions and accuracy.

Join the ranks of the elite 82nd Airborne Division as Corporal Frank Keegan in Medal of Honor Vanguard. From Operation Husky on the shores of Sicily to your Operation Varsity airdrop inside Nazi Germany, you’ll jump behind enemy lines to fight the epic WWII battles that turned America’s first paratroopers into heroes of WWII. Choose from a variety of authentic, customizable weapons at your disposal, each with distinct characteristics. Featuring spectacular graphics and all-out combat intensity, Medal of Honor Vanguard makes you the driving force in the struggle to liberate Europe.
