Virgin will make space for PS3 buyers to camp out in-store

But no camp fires! And GAME and HMV opt for early morning openings

NEWS: 20 March 2007 18:08 GMT by Chris Ford

For those fans wishing to get to the Virgin Megastore in good time, i.e. several days early, it has been announced that PS3 hopefuls will be able to camp in the safety of Virgin Megastore from 12 noon tomorrow (Wednesday).

Apparently the lower ground floor of the store "will be turned into a campsite to ensure fans stay comfortable and safe". What is more, entertainment, refreshments and "surprise events" have been promised, and the first customers to arrive will get some official PlayStation goodies.

Game and HMV have gone for early morning openings on Friday at 7am and 7.30am respectively, with Virgin being the only shop on Oxford Street to host a midnight event.
