Reuters have reported that Namco Bandai and Sony have signed a deal that will see the next-Gen console’s powerful Cell processor used in arcade machines, starting with Tekken 6.

It will, in all likelihood, be the first time the powerful chip has been used in a machine other than the PS3, despite Sony having had plans to release workstations using the processor by the end of 2006.

Tekken 6 is due out in Japanese arcades and on PS3s on both sides of the Pacific later this year.
