If you think you’re pretty good at the Xbox 360 FPS Gears of War then perhaps you’d care to put your reputation on the line and sign up for the global tournament hosted by Xbox LIVE.

The registration for the competition opens today, and battle starts on April 9 with gamers being ranked through combat on the Warzone gametype until May 6.

The top 11 players will be within sight of the grand prize - a 4 day trip to Prague, the city which influenced Gear’s design.

In addition, the top 4 gamers from each country will win a 3 day trip to their country’s 2007 World Cyber Games national championship event.

There’ll also be a lot of conciliatory prizes for those coming in 12th through to 25th – Xbox 360s including Viva Piñata, Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo: Elements of Power, Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged, a 12 month Xbox Live subscription, and a Gears of War faceplate.
