New set of Marvel super heroes go to SEGA

Hulk, Captain America and Thor to get a virtual airing

NEWS: 18 April 2007 11:41 GMT by Chris Ford

SEGA has been busy loosening its purse strings by shelling out the requisite readies for a slew Marvel heroes, namely The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America.

The publisher has come to an agreement for exclusive, worldwide, multi-year licensing rights with Marvel to produce games across the format spectrum, and adds it to the Iron Man title that’s out with the Summer 2008 film.

First up is The Incredible Hulk which will be based on the upcoming film, rather than the last one, and it will probably be launched to coincide with the film.

After that will come Captain America and Thor though neither the games nor films have been given timelines.

SEGA of America boss Simon Jeffery commented, "As SEGA continues to create games that are built from the ground up to appeal to Western audiences it makes perfect sense to work with a powerhouse like Marvel".

"Fans can now not only watch them in movies and read about them in comic books, but also literally control their actions through the videogames we are creating."
