Rumours abound in Advertising Age, an industry paper, that Pepsi will launch Halo 3 branded Mountain Dew in line with the games launch.

It wouldn't be the first time that soft drinks have been branded to promote something, usually films, but it is a first for the games industry.

For those unfamiliar with the drink, Mountain Dew is a gamers favourite in the US as it contains high levels of caffeine, in fact the highest levels of caffeine in a non-"energy" drink.

It normally has a citrus flavour but this limited edition is said to have a cherry twist to it.
