PSP for price cut in Europe

Cuts in line with redesign, and Platinum titles get a price reduction too

NEWS: 23 April 2007 13:57 GMT by Chris Ford

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has announced that it wants to knock £20/EUR40 off the price of a PSP.

The cuts, which SCEE want to roll out from May 4, will see the price of the PSP down to £129.99/EUR 169.99, and they follow cuts in the US which saw the cost of a Sony handheld down $30 to $169.99

And the good news doesn’t stop there – prices of Platinum titles are going to lside down to £ 14.99, with five titles meeting that price in May; Ridge Racer 2, Tekken, Killzone, LocoRoco and Moto GP.

SCE UK managing director Ray Maguire said, "PSP is unique and is constantly evolving. It offers the widest palette of mobile entertainment, from gaming to video, music, photos and internet".

"But now the exciting possibility of connecting remotely to PS3 makes PSP more relevant than ever. So what better time to offer a brand new price point, and the launch of five new Platinum titles?"
