A surprise announcement has come through that Kane & Lynch, originally scheduled for the Xbox 360 and PC, will also show up for work on the PS3.

Eidos have announced that the title will be out sometime later this year and is under development by IO Interactive, which brought us the Hitman series.

Building on that theme of hitmen, Kane & Lynch is the story of a mercenary and a psychopath … you do the maths as to what they’ll get up to.

"Kane & Lynch: Dead Men for the PlayStation 3 system will allow all next-generation gamers to savor the cinematic action and high-definition visuals of the game", said Darren Barnett, Development Director, Eidos Interactive.

"Kane & Lynch sets a new standard for mature games and we're pleased to be extending the experience to the PlayStation 3 system consumers as well as Xbox 360 and PC gamers."
