Burnout Bandslam winners announced

Winners grab a recording contract

NEWS: 26 April 2007 1:38 GMT by Chris Ford

The winners to Electronic Arts’ search for the hottest new bands has been wrapped up with two bands, one from Europe and one from the States, taking the top spots.

The Bandslam competition drew over 5000 entries in the US and more than 2100 in Europe from which only a pair would come out tops, and it was all down to MySpace users to choose, all 2 and a half million of them!

The two winning entries are "Showing Off To Thieves" from the UK, taking the European crown, and "Never Heard Of It" from the US.

Both bands are getting a demo recording deal from Virgin Records and EA, and have the chance to have their song included in a future Burnout videogame.
