Wishful thinking with low console production

Nintendo has come out and said that it wants to double its Wii and DS Software sales to 300 million units, and this is despite a lack of machines to play them on.
"As a mid-term target it would be appropriate for us to establish a Market in which we can sell about 300 million units of DS and Wii software", Nintendo President Satoru Iwata told a news conference in Osaka.
This is all well and good but if people can’t buy their consoles then there’ll be problems. But that exactly want they want to do and they think they have a solution.
"For the first three months of this year we have been producing one million units per month. We are increasing the manufacturing capacity and forecast to ship 14 million in this fiscal year to our distributors and retail customers globally", a Nintendo spokesperson said.
"We have put solid production plans in place to ensure a steady flow of product through 2007. We are constantly replenishing Wii supplies however with such high demand, stock is still flying off shelves so consumers should continue to be in touch with their local retailers to confirm when new stock is arriving."
