Halo 2 overtakes movie sales

NEWS: 12 November 2004 15:02 GMT by Stuart Miles

We all got excited about GTA: San Andreas last week with the news that it had made more money in its opening weekend that Harry Potter did when it launched in the UK.

Now two weeks later its Microsoft's turn. Halo 2 is reportedly to have sold $125 million dollars worth on its first day making it the biggest selling video game and movie of all time.

Up until now the biggest selling blockbuster in the US has been Spider-Man with $114 million for the opening weekend.

Other reports suggest that this many units - 2.38 million - means that over 60% of people who own a Xbox console have bought the game.

We will be posting a review of the game later today
