Exciting news for all rock gods out there as Harmonix has announced that its new music game, Rock Band, will feature a peripheral modelled on the classic fender Stratocaster.

There’ll also be Fender amps, basses and other guitars featured in the game.

The title, out sometime this year on PS3 and Xbox360, won’t stop there with the music industry connections as there’ll be in-game branding too by Roland (of keyboard fame) and BOSS (they who know their pedals).

Rock Band will allow players to play solo or recruit bandmates, and jam side-by-side or virtually online, playing music from the greatest rock artists of all time. Built on unprecedented deals with the world’s biggest record labels and music publishers, the music featured in Rock Band will span all genres of rock and include many master recordings.
