Bungie and Microsoft have brought a smile to all their fans’ face by announcing that they’ll have to wait no longer than to September for Halo 3.

To be precise, September 25 will see the North American release and the 26 the European launch, and Microsoft will be hoping to emulate the success of the Halo 2 launch which saw $125 million in sales in the first 24 hours.

"Halo 3 is much more than a videogame release: it's the biggest entertainment event of the year", said Peter Moore, corporate VP of Microsoft's game business.

"On September 25 we intend to deliver a finale that will go down in entertainment history and leave people around the world with an experience that will be shared and enjoyed for years to come."
