Electronic Arts plans to make FIFA 08 one of its biggest releases of the year with more than a few surprises announced today.

Firstly, as well as being launched on the 360, DS, PSP, PS2, PC and Mobile sometime in the autumn, FIFA 08 will also see outing on the PS3 and Wii, a debut for the Sony and Nintendo next-Gens.

Also reported today was the line-up of football stars that will grace the cover of game packs, with two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho headlining.

Ronaldinho will take his place on FIFA 08 covers alongside star players from other select teams in countries around the world - Miroslav Klose of Werder Bremen on packaging in Germany, Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid on the cover in Spain, captain of the Austrian national team Andreas Ivanschitz of Panathinaikos FC in Austria, and Swiss national Tranquillo Barnetta of Bayer Leverkusen in Switzerland. Florent Malouda of Olympique Lyonnais and Frank Ribery of Olympique Marseille will be paired with Ronaldinho in France.

The athletes appearing on the cover of FIFA 08 in North America and the United Kingdom will be revealed next month.
