Guitar Hero offering places on stage at Donnington

Face the crowds at this year’s festival

NEWS: 29 May 2007 11:41 GMT by Chris Ford

Guitar Hero is offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to fans this year with the chance to perform in front of the crowds at the Download Festival at Donnington Park.

The Download Festival is being held on June 8, 9 & 10 with the Guitar Hero performances taking place on the Third Stage every night between 10:00pm and midnight in front of up to 3,000 moshing fans!

The crowd will vote for their favourite performer and the winner will pick up a brand new Epiphone Les Paul guitar.

The competition is open to individuals or double acts who will perform from the 40 licensed songs using the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero II and the game’s distinctive X-Plorer controllers.

“Donington Park has been home to some of the greatest rock performances of all time, and we’re delighted to be able to offer Guitar Hero players the greatest stage of them all at Download 2007,” says Simon Byron, organiser, Guitar Hero at Download.

“Guitar Hero has always been about becoming a rock star – those attending Download Festival have the opportunity to take that to another level and perform in front of up to 3,000 fans.”
