Sony Ericsson patents "PSP Phone"

What do you get if you cross a phone with a PSP?

Sony Ericsson patents "PSP Phone" image

The Sony Ericsson phone brand has already enjoyed successful Sony tech team ups with the Walkman music player phones and Cyber-shot branded cameras so we should perhaps be unsurprised that they are considering capitalising on the success of Sony's PSP and bringing out a PSP-themed gaming enabled mobile phone handset.

Recently filed with the patent office, this design shows the phone having a swivel screen that moves it a gaming friendly 90 degrees and controls similar to the PSP.

With Nokia's N-Gage mobile phone gaming supposedly about to enjoy a relaunch, perhaps the time is now for games on phones to really take off.
