Following Rockstar’s rough week with Manhunt 2 being banned in the UK and Ireland, and given an AO rating in the U.S, Sony and Nintendo have announced that they won’t be allowing the game on their consoles in North America.

The ESRB gave the game an Adult Only rating earlier this week and both Sony and Nintendo have corporate policies of not releasing games with the rating in the U.S.

This policy has been confirmed by Sony who will not allow the game on either the PS2 or PSP.

Likewise Nintendo has released a statement to the same effect saying, "As stated on Nintendo.com, Nintendo does not allow any AO-rated content on its systems."

The game was originally slated for a July 10 release but it now looks unlikely to go ahead. Rockstar are able to appeal the AO decision but has yet to issue a statement regarding its course of action.
