World in Conflict Special Edition to include piece of Berlin Wall

Limited edition will come with host of Cold War goodies

NEWS: 27 June 2007 0:01 GMT by Chris Ford

In a highly original move, Sierra Entertainment will include a genuine piece of the Berlin wall in the limited edition of its upcoming game, World in Conflict.

The Collector’s Edition will also include a bonus DVD from The History Channel, behind the scenes videos and special packaging. Additional pre-order bonuses for the Collector’s Edition and Standard Edition versions of World in Conflict are now available at participating retailers across North America.

World in Conflict, out in September, is an action-strategy game from Massive Entertainment in a world where the cold war never ended.

Completely destructible 3D battlefields, blistering visuals, and an innovative gameplay mechanism, removing traditional resource-gathering and base-building in favour of non-stop combat, tactical decisions and an FPS-like addiction to intense action all make World in Conflict a cross-over hit.

“The World in Conflict Collector’s Edition offers gamers the chance to grab a piece of history – an authentic piece of the Berlin Wall, a monument that once divided the Cold War superpowers right through the heart of Europe,” said Al Simone, senior vice president of global marketing, Sierra Entertainment.

“In World in Conflict, the Berlin Wall isn’t dismantled in the name of global peace, it is obliterated by the collateral damage of the opening salvos of World War III. We are excited to offer gamers this exclusive opportunity to grab this piece of history as well as the other amazing added content in the Collector’s Edition version.”
