The 77 year-old racing veteran who competed in 74 Formula One Grand Prix races throughout the 1950s is considered by many as the greatest British racing driver of all time.

Having started his career at the age of 17, Sir Stirling was quickly signed up by Mercedes-Benz to partner World Champion Fangio, and went on to win almost every important race there was in the 1950s.
