According to rumours, this month’s PSM France is going to give gamers a better idea about the new and official PS3 SIXAXIS controller.

Most interesting of all is that the controller might include 'touch sense' which will see vibration coming from more places than just the handles, as they do at present.

The new controller could have vibrating levers (L3, R3) too which could give developers a lot of options when it comes to effects.

The article supposedly also goes on to say that it is thought that any vibrating unit could be small enough to fit without any major redesign of the current levers.

To further the good news, the new vibrating engine should be cheaper to produce, therefore keeping costs down across the board, and, with a firmware update, the vibrations should be usable for the PS2.
