Colin McRae: DIRT shifts half a million

Not bad for the first week

NEWS: 28 June 2007 16:32 GMT by Chris Ford

Codemasters have something to celebrate with news that Colin McRae: DIRT has moved over 500,000 units in its first week, and that’s not to mention the other half million downloads.

Available on PC and Xbox 360, the game takes gamers off-roading in more than just rally cars.

"This success with DIRT is a text-book case of our product development, marketing and distribution efforts all working together to ignite consumer interest and drive sales," commented Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters.

"Nearly half of our first week's sales are from the US alone, which means momentum behind this series is taking hold in new territories."
