A motion sensing Lightsabre has been at the back of most people’s minds since Wii launched with its remote controllers, but now it seems as if it may become reality.

News has been filtering in that indeed a Wii Lightsabre is on its way, and later this year what is more.

LucasArts' Jim Ward spoke at the Hollywood & Games Summit panel yesterday and got on to the subject after a tricky question regarding the feasibility of a remote Lightsabre.

"We're all over that," Ward shot back.

So far, so good.

"Internally we have already played a Lightsabre game on the Wii. It's a lot of fun, and we'll get there. There'll be some stuff out this autumn - it's going to be a lot of fun."

So, it'll be a lot of fun.

Well, there you have it, though we still have to speculate about what game he was referring to - possibly the Wii version of LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Trilogy, which is set for release later this year.
