Auto Assault MMO to close down at the end of summer

No reason given but lack of interest most likely

NEWS: 3 July 2007 18:22 GMT by Chris Ford

NCSoft has announced that its MMO Auto Assault will be taken offline by the end of the summer, August 31.

The title, developed by NetDevil, was released in April 2006 and gives gamers the chance to race and blast in armed and armoured cars.

The game’s official site is carrying a notice that gives fans details of how any outstanding credit may be reclaimed, "As of today, any player currently in the service with an active billed account will not be billed again. If players have previously purchased time via multi-month billing or time cards that extends their service past July 31, NCsoft will reconcile these accounts appropriately".

Although no reason has been given as to why the game is being shutdown it is probably due to lack of interest with NCsoft's financial report showing that the game accounted for less than one-third of 1% of the company's sales.
