With Gran Turismo 5 still without an official release date beyond sometime in 2008 Sony has sweetened the wait with the promise of a downloadable demo called Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

Prologue will be a full-featured and includes online functionality for multi-player racing, and as for the content, well, some has been seen during a presentation at E3.

The footage was, of course, fantastically intricate, starting in the pits and with a camera that swept over the car and track to pick out every last detail.

The trailer revealed various locations such a night time city, rural scene and a traditional race track.
