Peter Moore Resigns From Microsoft

Head honcho moves to EA

NEWS: 17 July 2007 0:00 GMT by Stuart Miles

Peter Moore, head honcho of Xbox has resigned to become president of EA Sports.

In a strange twist of fate, Microsoft has chosen Don Mattrick, a former president of EA to replace him.

The move comes just days after the E3 games trade show in Santa Monica.

The move will mean Moore, who has been bashing Sony over the last couple of years as his main competitor to Xbox, will now be best of buddies.

Born in Liverpool, Moore started out as a PE teacher, eventually getting a job at Reebok and taking them into the football boot business. His move into the video game market started with Sega to launch the Dreamcast.

Microsoft has said that Mattrick will take over as the senior vice president of IEB at Microsoft, effective July 30.
