European shops have beaten Microsoft’s official price announcement by declaring their own price for the new Xbox 360 Elite.

The supped-up 120GB console will retail for £329.99 when it launches in Europe on August 24.

Consumers won’t be surprised to learn that the price doesn’t compare favourably with the American version on sale in the States for $479 (£250).

Microsoft hasn’t commented on the news but suggest that the leak may have come from elsewhere in Europe.
