It sounds funny to many ears that it’s taken until the fifth in the series of such a popular game to get online play but I guess that shows how long Virtua Fighter has been around.

What is more, Sega has announced that Xbox 360 fans don’t have to wait that much longer for Virtua Fighter 5 – only until October 30 to be precise.

With the PS3 version already out, 360 gamers have been chomping at the bit for the latest title that brings 17 fighters, customisable characters, and new item to purchase in-game.

Of course, the biggest change is online play with the usual leaderboards, downloadable matches so you can study your upcoming opponent’s tactics, and other downloadable content from LIVE.
