The Konami Corporation has released news of accounts well in the black today with its first quarter financial results.

The Corporation has its Digital Entertainment division to thank in part as the 3 months ending June 30 saw revenue up 5.2% on the same period last year – 60.7 billion Yen/EUR 371.6 million, with profits up 82% at 3.86 billion/EUR 23.7 million.

The Digital Entertainment arm saw its revenue rise by 8.6%, which is over the company average.

The success can be put down to a few key titles such as Pro Evolution Soccer and Metal Gear, though trading cards and arcade machines also played their part.
