Launch date confirmed for Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

Still no firm dates for 360 and PS3 versions

NEWS: 6 August 2007 14:23 GMT by Chris Ford

QuakeCon 2007 has provided quite a few interesting snippits of information, among them the release date for the PC version of Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars.

Activision has said that September 28 will be the day when the multi-player strategic shooter hits European shelves, and though there still has been no mention of when the PS3 and 360 titles will be out, rumours say that the Xbox version will be with gamers in September too.

The game, which is in development by Splash Damage, pits the armies of Earth’s Global Defense Force (GDF) against the invading alien Strogg. Here gamers will man the front lines of an epic new war for Earth.

Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars’ objective-based multi-player action can be played either online or offline with bots, and fans can choose to play as the human GDF or alien Strogg in one of five unique character classes.

Of course, there’s an arsenal of weapons, vehicles and deployable armaments to pick from, and players engage in an action-packed test of skill and co-ordinated teamwork through a series of combat objectives.
