Back in June we brought you news of a Burnout ad getting banned, and now it’s Sony’s turn as an internet advert for its PS3 console has similarly been told to make itself scarce.

The Advertising Standards Authority received complaints about the ad which features a character called Kovac brandishing both a knife and a gun. However, it seems that the copy was more offensive than the image.

The ad text reads, "You on my side? Listen up I've killed for less, the music plays Puccini in my head." – It was this more than anything that prompted the complaints.

The ad came from Sony’s agency, TBWA that denied it wanted to "represent, nor describe, socially acceptable or aspirational behaviour".

It wasn’t all doom and gloom, however, as other complaints made against Sony TV and internet ads were not upheld.
