X-OOM movies for the PSP

New software gives PSP gamers a new film download option

NEWS: 17 August 2007 0:00 GMT by Chris Ford

While Sony may be prevaricating over Digital Rights Management for the PSP (as reported here yesterday), X-OOM has stepped up and delivered new software that give PSPs access to films.

The software will allow PSP owners to convert films, TV, and DVDs into the right format (DivX, AVI, WMV, MPEG) to view on their handhelds.

The operation sounds fairly simple … place the desired show in the DVD drive on a PC, select the output format on Movies on PSP 3 and you’re off. What is more, the newly integrated AVC-codec delivers a better output quality at a high rate of compression, ensuring superb quality.

There are also helpful editing options to help users cut and backup their favourite movie scenes so they can save them as new DVDs or as separate video files.
