X-OOM Movies for Wii - a workaround to watch DVDs on your Wii

Saves films to SD card

NEWS: 21 August 2007 9:08 GMT by Verity Burns

The Nintendo Wii has taken off impressively since it was released, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

But one of the gripes Wii owners have would be the inability for the Wii to play DVDs without complicated hacks.

X-OOM Software has seen to this dilemma by offering X-OOM Movies on Wii, enabling users to convert movies and TV shows for playback on the TV via their Wii.

With this software you just need to do is run the DVD on a computer, and then save the file to the appropriate format.

Transfer this saved file over to an SD memory card and you're good to go for direct movie playback on your Wii.

For the adventurous, there is always the option to tinker with the "Expert Mode" to come up with your own edited scenes.

X-OOM's very own Fit-To-Stick technology claims to ensure movies are loaded onto the memory card in a fast and efficient way.

X-OOM Movies on Wii will retail for £19.99 and is compatible with a wide range of video formats, ranging from DivX to XviD, MPEG2, MPEG4, and WMV.
