Folding@home gets a facelift

Medical study updated for the summer, including PSP support

NEWS: 22 August 2007 11:43 GMT by Chris Ford

Sony has announced that the Folding@home project has received a spruce up, making it, well, more interesting to look at.

The project, which does huge calculations Stanford University researchers, now includes better visualizations, a screensaver mode, and support for the PS3's Remote Play function, which permits PSP users to watch their PS3s run Folding@home from the handheld.

The project has over 536,000 PS3 owners doing their part, having downloaded the software which adds up to 600 teraflops of processing power to the project at any given point.
