Tony Hawk Proving Ground launch in October

Xbox version to come with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock demo

NEWS: 24 August 2007 0:00 GMT by Chris Ford

Skating fans should do up their laces tight and get ready for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground to launch October 9.

As an added bonus, Xbox 360 owners will find a free demo of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock hanging with the skate game.

Guitar Heroes III will be out October 29, so the demo provides an early look at the title.

Proving Ground will also be out on the PS3, PS2, Nintendo Wii, and Nintendo DS, all versions with enhanced character development, video editing, online play and wide-open environments.

"Music is such a huge part of skateboarding culture and pairing the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock demo with Tony Hawk's Proving Ground makes perfect sense," said Dusty Welch, head of publishing at RedOctane.

"We're excited to bring together two highly anticipated games and give fans their first chance to rock out with the franchise that's taken the world by storm."
